The iHealth Alliance is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to protect the interests of patients and providers, as healthcare increasingly moves online. The iHealth Alliance governs the Health Care Notification Network (HCNN) and will ensure that the network is used only for patient safety alerts.
The iHealth Alliance is chaired by Nancy W. Dickey, M.D., past President of the AMA, President of Health Science Center and Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs for Texas A&M University.
The iHealth Alliance Board of Directors is comprised of industry leaders from medical societies, liability carriers, patient advocacy groups and others dedicated to protecting the interest of patients and providers.

Alan M. Harvey, M.D., MBA, was president of the Massachusetts Medical Society. He is the Director of Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement, Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine, Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School.
At the Brigham, Dr. Harvey has served on many physician committees, advisory groups and task forces, including those on quality assurance and risk management, patient safety, and physician advocacy and legislation.
He is a diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology, American Board of Pain Medicine, and the American Board of Medical Management.
Dr. Harvey joined the MMS in 1989. He has been active in the Massachusetts Medical Society on many levels, most recently serving as President Elect. Prior to that, Dr. Harvey was Vice President, Assistant Secretary Treasurer, Speaker of the Medical Society’s House of Delegates for three years, following a three-year term as Vice Speaker. He has been a member of the Medical Society’s Board of Trustees, and has served on the committees of Finance, Publications, Administration and Management, Long Range Planning and Strategic Direction, Communications, Membership Services, Bylaws, Interspecialty, and others.
Dr. Harvey is a Massachusetts Delegate to the American Medical Association House of Delegates, and served on several AMA committees and task forces. He is a member of the executive committee and a past President of the Massachusetts Society of Anesthesiologists, and is currently on the Norfolk District Medical Society’s Executive Committee
Dr. Harvey also has extensive experience in health policy, health care finance, and physician payment policy, serving five years on the American Medical Association/Health Care Finance Administration Relative Value Update (RUC) Advisory Committee. He recently served as Chair of the first statewide taskforce on Weight Loss Surgery of the Betsy Lehman Center for Patient Safety and Medical Error Reduction
A graduate of Middlebury College, Dr. Harvey earned his M.D. at the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha, the honor national medical society. He served his internship in general surgery at University Hospital in Birmingham, Ala., and his residency in anesthesiology at Hartford (Conn.) Hospital. He served his fellowship in pain management at the Yale University School of Medicine. He also holds a Masters in Business Administration, with a concentration in health systems management, from the University of Connecticut.
