Looks like stressed out doctors might soon have a little less paperwork to worry about. According to the Wall Street Journal, the nonprofit group iHealth Alliance is set to launch an online network "that will email alerts [about warnings and label changes, etc.] to doctors who sign up."
The emails will be focused by specialty, so doctors can avoid being bombarded with email updates that aren't relevant to their field. Johnson & Johnson already plans to jump on board, with vice president Christine Cote saying "We're talking about the Dark Ages here, doing pigeon posts." Upon receiving their email updates, doctors will go to the Health Care Notification Network website, which will have access to archives, suggestive language for talking to patients, and other alerts.
